Week 5 VoiceThread Thing 12

I really like the many ways that voicethread can be applied for the classroom. They gave lots of examples in the tutorials. I have used this once before but of course I had forgotten how to do most of the things. But it is very easy to use and intuitive. I really like its application as a book review tool or responding to book talks or something like that I think would be a really good way to use it for a library.

Week 5 Thing 10 -11 Web 2.O Awards list, Ning, Travel IQ

I played with several of these award winning web apps. I especially like the google maps for exploring and finding how to get places.
I also used http://del.icio.us/ for bookmarking sites it is a really neat tool and I see how it could be a useful way of saving your bookmarks. I liked how others could share with you and easily search for subjects. I like how the tags work for organizing and searching. I think that this will be a useful tool. I think this tool could be used by students and teachers to organize their websites and create groups of websites with the tags. Utilize what others have found and add more of their own.
I have been involved in several NING activities and find them very useful. I have also seen teachers use them effectively with a class. Getting students involved in writing and commenting on specified topics. It was amazing how quickly and easily they got very involved in the writing activities. There were however a few trouble areas with email and things like that.
Now Travel IQ is a fun and interesting activity I thought they were just great. Found out how much I didn't know but still scored a few points. Quick response and continual keeps you thinking.

Week 5: Play Week #9

Online Image Generators are very interesting and time zapping. Checked out a few and added some examples to my blog like the license plate and the phone message they were fun! The more I explored the more fun and interesting adventures I took. I made comic strips and cards and photos of all types.
Think I need to do somethings else for a while.

Week 4: RSS & Newsreaders

Information, information, information overloaded is what I feel like after spending several hours with RSS and Newsreaders. I think I know what is going on in the world and I have read some interesting blogs and looked and some websites that were related to these blogs. I caught up on all the baseball that has happened in the last week. I also learned about some of the happenings at the American Library Association Annual conference currently in Anaheim California. Reading a blog by Dr Koren of Murray Library School. Sounds like a fun time in Anaheim and sure lots warmer than here. I also found a couple of book search sites that were interesting. Now I can look and see what happens on these feeds and read what I want.

Week 2 Flicker Thing 5 and Thing 6

I had to stop myself from this exploration (playing) with flicker. I have been adding new photos and managed to even make my own trading card. Wow is this time consuming, but lots of fun. I forgot how easy it was to upload the photos. I am still not real comfortable with having them available to the whole world so I like the fact that you can just share them with friends and family. I do see how this could be used for doing projects and getting to photos easily. I am looking forward to continuing to use this.

Week 2 Thing 3 and Thing 4

Well I registered the blog. Now it really means that I am doing this. This will keep me thinking about all of these new tools that I have experimented with. I have used a few Web 2.0 tools before but am looking forward to having the opportunity to continue this exploration and participate actively in them.

Introduction Week1 Thing 1 and Thing 2

Here is my first post. I just figured out how to save my avatar and use it on the blog. This is pretty cool. I have been experiment with differnt avatar features. I had changed the avatar before but had not saved it for use on the web or for other purposes. I think that this will be fun.
I have done blogging for several classes but only used them during the class. Here we are off and running!!! Yeah!!!
